Adoption Process
The American Morkshire Terrier is a unique, rare, and wonderful purebred toy companion that is seldom placed in a rescue situation, but it could occur. The American Morkshire Rescue Association (AMRA) also rescues the Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Biewer, BIRO and other small breeds and is pleased that you have decided to Adopt a dog in rescue. Our organization is dedicated to making sure that each dog placement will be in a Forever Home!
We have to be thorough in our efforts to ensure that each dog placed is the right decision for both of you. There are many things to consider before adopting a dog, so PLEASE read all the information below to be considered as an adoptive parent, as you must meet and abide by the following:
*Please note that we have no shelter where rescues can be viewed. ALL of our dogs are placed in individual homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to DONATE $5.00 and submit an online application. *AMRA has NO paid staff, we are ALL volunteers and we do our best to communicate promptly.
